The Gifts That Keep on Giving

Rob Rosenbach

There are angels who grace our presence. Rob Rosenbach, class of 2004, was one of them. Affectionately referred to as Bocker, he was known as a humble “protector of the underdog” whose smile lit up a room as soon as he entered. Rob had many gifts. His humor was contagious, his quick wit would put anyone at ease, and his love of ALL his family was evident. Legend has it he also had the gift of “hitting a golf ball a mile.” Rob was a 4th generation Rosenbach and a 3rd generation Askins to graduate from Catholic Central.

Rob and family gave two additional gifts. Upon his passing on December 9, 2014, Rob gave of himself as a Gift of Life Donor. And, in 2015, Rob's family, led by his Uncle Tom Rosenbach ’74, created the Rob Rosenbach Memorial Scholarship, an endowed scholarship that will benefit Catholic Central students… literally forever.

Every year, the Rosenbachs and Sagaskis (Rob’s in-laws) put on the Bocker Open Golf Outing. According to his dad Bob ’71, “not only does this keep Rob’s memory alive, but through the generosity of many the Rob Rosenbach Memorial Scholarship keeps growing. This year we were able to help financially support two students. Rob would like that.”
