Someone You Should Know: Angela Rysdyk ’14

Angela is currently studying to receive her Nurse Practitioner degree, specializing in Pediatric Acute Care at the University of Pennsylvania. She credits Catholic Central for her high level of preparedness. “The study skills taught to me at CC more than prepared me for the rigor of the University of Michigan, and they are skills that I am still using today and probably will for the rest of my life,” she says.

After graduating from U of M, Angela began her nursing career at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC, in the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. Looking back at her time at Catholic Central, Angela reflects, “My study skills were not the only thing I’ve carried with me daily. The values instilled through a faith-based education, compassion towards and helping out our neighbors, being exposed to service opportunities that were intentionally integrated into our daily lives at CC; all of this has helped me to be a better person and to be a better nurse.”

God bless you, Angela.
